Downtown Chandler Wedding Walk
Today I received a phone call from Glen at Light Rain Images. He wants a simple bouquet for the Wedding Walk in downtown Chandler tomorrow. I didn't even know there was such a thing so I'm happy to post it here.
I love historic Chandler. Inspirador is down there as well as a lot of other awesome wedding vendors.
Stop by and check it out! I'll post some of Glen's pictures and probably take some of my own.

Bridal Fashion Debut
Ah, the Bridal Expo, Nothing is more fun than two days of wedding bliss! I love bridal shows, it gives me a chance to show off and do some of my funkier designs.
Thanks to all of you who stopped by and visited our booth! I had so much fun and I have 300+ of you to thank for it! Congratulations to the winners of our bouquet drawing! I look forward to speaking with you about your weddings and your flowers.
I also want to spotlight some of my favorite vendors. I was flooded by referrals and I am eternally grateful! You did an awesome job and I can't wait to see you in June!
Jon and Lynette with Jagged Metal Works:
Our patient neighbors! Not only do they put up with curly willow in their hair, our stuff spewing over into their booth, my schmoozy husband and me with my constant pacing as I eagerly await the brides; they do an awesome job!
I 've been asked a number of times whether or not I rent arches. I don't, and now I have an excellent referral. Jagged Metal Works' handcrafted arches, candelabras and more are not only gorgeous to look at, they're affordable. They set up, tear down, do all the hard work and you have a unique one-of-a-kind piece at your wedding! I can't wait to festoon those arches with flowers! :)
Definitely Debra:
I met Debra at Kirstin and Michah's November wedding. I saw the awesome peacock programs and invites she did for the event and I wished I'd known about her when I ordered 'generic invite #2' for my wedding a few years ago. Her booth was awesome and I was flooded all day with referrals. Thank you!
Kirstin was there helping out and I had a number of brides tell me the "girl with red hair who had a peacock wedding told me to come here." Awesome! I was so glad to see her again and to know she loved the end result! Kirstin is the cover girl for our website. I have to say, one of, if not, the favorite wedding of all time!
I was also surprised and amazed at some of my fellow florists! They were so gracious and I was tickled by each who stopped by with nice things to say:
Jen at Ever After Florals:
I think each florist has their own style and you have to go with one who truly gets you. I had a bride tell me Jen sent her to my booth after she explained her funky bouquet with dried florals. I was surprised and thrilled that another florist, a competing florist had enough respect for my work that she referred someone to me.
Jen is an awesome person. It was nice to meet her face-to-face and I have no problem returning the favor. Thanks Jen!
Jeanne with White Poppy:
Another awesome florist. They took to the time to say "Hi" and I was so grateful. I kind of felt like I was among celebrities. I've admired their work for a long time. I even photographed their booth before I joined in the the show as a vendor. Thanks for coming by guys!
Amy with Amy's Floral Design:
It was nice to meet Amy face-to-face. We know a lot of the same people and it was great to meet her. I didn't get the pleasure of swinging by her booth in person but she came by mine and I am very grateful. I also loved her print information--if that's a sampling of her work, then she is an awesome florist.
Thank you so much everyone and thank you especially to the brides who stopped by and took a look at our booth!

I've Been Blogged!
Style Me Pretty is THE blog for the on-top-of-it bride. They have such wonderful inspiration boards I can't stop myself from browsing for inspiration.
Imagine my surprise when my name popped up! At the bottom of a post (from a bride I totally recognized) there's a little blurb about the "incredible florist..." I think I swooned when I read my name and saw a link to our site!Amy and David's wedding was a fun one for me. I knew the bride through my favorite photographer Elyse Hall (she's Elyse's sister-in-law). It was a pleasure working with people I know but the flowers were fun too. The lime green color scheme is so chic and I love working with fruit and other unexpected materials. Of course working at one of my favorite venues always makes me happy.
I was so tickled by the reference I had to share. Oh! and check out Amy's photographer Jonathan Canlas's blog for gorgeous pictures!

3TV Photo Shoot
The Magic of Television
On Monday we had an awesome opportunity. We shot a tape piece for 3TV extra with Beverly Kidd. It should air in the 9:45 time slot either Wednesday or Thursday. All of this in preparation for the HUGE bridal show this weekend. Our flowers will be featured in the fashion shows at the show and our booth is going to be awesome. So we got to show off even more through the magic of television.
We went to Tri Rentals on Saturday to check out the gorgeous table settings. Our task was to dress four trendy tables and decorate a lounge area. I was able to pull together some really cool flowers to complement their vignettes.
We were trying to show the color/design trends for 2009 which include bright color, silver and other metallics, jewel tones, lighting, a loungey feel to receptions as well as a nod to the 40-50s hipster club feel, and natural elements to bring a "green" feeling into your wedding designs.
The tables included a fuschia with sheer overlay, lime green and black with a Damask runner, a jewel purple pintuck table with silver chairs, a beachy colored orange and blue and the hipster lounge with white glow boxes. Tri Rentals had all the cool furniture including "leather" lounge couches, a white bar, the glow boxes, and small cocktail tables. Most of the pieces were reasonable and I think they would work great for brides using the Valley Ho or other hipster venues.
Each table was unique and we used various elements to capture fun looks. My favorites were the lamp my husband helped me create (which matched the rental tea light lamps from Tri Rentals perfectly) and the orange and lime green lounge with borrowed goldfish (my toddler has a Dora fishtank :) ).
I wasn't interviewed but it wasn't about me--it was about my flowers and I think they behaved perfectly.
Definitely tune into the show this week and find us at the Bridal Fashion Debut this weekend.
Until then check out our sneak peaks!
See you this weekend!
